August's Employee Spotlight: Mick C.
Debra: Welcome back for another episode of our Employee Spotlight. Joining me today is Mick Cohan. Hi Mick, how are you?
Mick: Doing well. How are you?
Debra: Oh, just fine. So, Mick is one of our account managers. Can you tell us a little bit about what that means and what you do here for us at Lionzone?
Mick: Sure, yeah. So first and foremost, I reach out to potential customers. I let them know how I can help them, tell them about our product. And then, once we land them, I'm more of a go-between, between our company and their company and make sure that everything's going smoothly, the communications on point, everything like that.
Debra: So, if you had to say, what do you like most about working here at Lionzone?
Mick: Most. It would be the atmosphere. I mean, it really feels like a family here. And any time I'm having types of questions, it's almost like anyone out there can answer my question and it's just great. So, I really like the atmosphere and the people.
Debra: Yea, this is a pretty fun place to work, isn't it?
Mick: Absolutely.
Debra: So, if you had to describe Lionzone in three words, how would you describe the company?
Mick: Three words, dedication, passionate or passion and teamwork, honestly. Because dedication, There's been plenty of times where I've seen people working past closing time to get something done, because it needed to be done. So that’s dedication. Passion; every time I'm talking to one of my coworkers and they're telling me about what they do, their eyes light up, and they, and they're really enthusiastic about what they're doing and what they're talking about, passion. And then, of course, the other word, teamwork is what we do.
Debra: That is what we do.
Mick: “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
Debra: So, Mick, tell us, what is something that you really learned here at Lionzone?
Mick: Well, I learned a lot about our product, of course, the services. But the big thing that's been helping me is organization, because you're really organized, and you've shown me a lot of tips to just, it just changed the game for me so definitely that.
Debra: I’m was so glad to hear all my tips are helpful and not annoying.
Mick: No. Not in the slightest.
Debra: So, getting a little more personal. If you can meet anyone dead or alive, who would you want to meet?
Mick: That would be Stan Lee. Because, you know, I'm a huge superhero fan and I wanted to talk to him a little bit about how he created characters and what his thought process was, and I also would like to pitch about 150 ideas at him.
Debra: I can't say that I blame you. I'd like to meet Stan Lee myself.
Mick: Oh, yeah, rest in peace.
Debra: So, if you had to use a hashtag to describe yourself, what hashtag would you be?
Mick: What hashtag? #present. Because I am here.
Debra: So, is there any TV show, book, movie, song that you love, but are ashamed to admit?
Mick: Oh um, you know what? Yes. Actually, Justin Bieber “Never Say Never”. I actually really like that song because it just “Never Say Never” in itself. It's, hey, you can do anything that you put the effort towards doing.
Debra: Well, you'll be the first person I've ever known to admit they like Justin Bieber.
Mick: Oh, I'm a Bieber. You best “be-lieb” it.
Debra: So just curious, is there one thing that you find you just possibly couldn't live without?
Mick: Dogs! I've had a dog in my life since I was five years old, and I love dogs. No matter what you're doing, no matter how your day was, when you come home, your dog is just super excited to see you. So, dogs are the best.
Debra: All right. As a cat person, I have to disagree, but. All right.
Mick: Spoken like a true cat person.
Debra: So final question. What quote do you think personifies you?
Mick: That would be a family quote and its “trust or fear.” And that means, in any situation you're facing, you can either trust in the outcome is going to be good or you can fear that the outcomes going to be bad, but no matter what, you've got to go through it. So just trust or fear and get through it.
Debra: It's a very good motto. I like that one. All right, guys, thank you all again for joining us for another employee spotlight. We hope you'll join us again next month when we do our COO, Phillip Goldberg
Mick: See ya Lionzoners!
